Over adaptive? Sensitive to others' moods? And ready for change?

You are allowed to be yourself. In your relationship. At work. With your family. Among your friends.
In school or even in the streets.

But sometimes it is difficult in one or more areas.
More so than when you're home alone.

Sometimes that's normal, because we like to be considerate with others.
But sometimes you've learned to consider others so much that you forget yourself.
Often very automatic.

Being sensitive to others, the positive aspects:
. Are you sensitive to the moods and feelings of others?
. Do you naturally hold space for others?
. Can you perform well under stress?
. Do you commit yourself to tasks and have you achieved a lot because of it?
. Are you loyal?
. Do you always give people a second chance?
. Are you intuitive?

The above are powerful and beautiful traits.
But these traits may tip out of balance, which might look like...

. When you adapt to the point of forgetting what you need yourself.
. If you're a people pleaser and forget what your own wishes in life.
. If sometimes you don't feel heard or seen, but you don't bring it up.
. If you are endlessly patient with others, but are overly critical of yourself.
. If you're loyal to others but not setting healthy boundaries.
. If you hold space for others but don't ask for the same in return.
. If you think you're not good enough, unless...
. If you're afraid of conflict, rejection or anger.
. If you don't say what you want because you're afraid of rejection.
. If you play out dialogues in your mind endlessly.

The good news is....
You're able to become your true self after all...
With compassion for the other and yourself.
Aware of your own feelings.
Know what you need in your life. Within your relationship, at work, in your home, etc.
And know what you like, what you wish for. And give yourself this where possible.
A life where you keep yourself safe, physically and emotionally.
A life in which you are free to be yourself, and where you also allow the other.
And above all, a life filled with love.

In fact...
As an adult it is now up to you to choose which patterns (still) suit you and which ones don't.
To consciously determine your own path in life.
And to set healthy boundaries. It might take a bit of practise to get used to, but you will gain back your freedom and inner peace.
You will find and embrace own identity. This is called authenticity.

The most powerful foundation for change lies in the relationship with yourself.
You may get to know your real self and 'have your own back' at all times.
Herein lies the road to freedom. You will build a future with power and your own solid identity.

If you want to find freedom from adapting to others, I welcome you!
