Transaction Analysis
What is Transaction Analysis?
Transactional Analysis sounds rather vague and at the same time a bit technical, scientific. Weird actually, because it is one of the most enlightening, fine methods, that draws patterns very brightly and makes people themselves the expert in their own patterns.
I'll explain the words myself: Transactional Analysis analyses (researches, mentions) what happens in the transactions (words, energy) between yourself and others.
In addition, it also looks at what is happening inside, as these patterns are reflected: in our thinking, feeling and our behavior.

Child ego stand vs. Adult ego stand
We're not just our grown-ups.
Psychiatrist Eric Berne assumed that we are not just our adult version of ourselves, but that we sometimes step into another for example younger version of ourselves (Kind Ego State). This can be driven by our nervous system, but also by certain key moments in our lives.
Often we even feel really younger... Like you're not your powerful adult age, but you don't know. Not all the possibilities and who can name and investigate quietly. You can feel insecure. Or angry. Or do you think... Everybody's... Or no one is........... (for example, if I declare my limits, I will be rejected...)
At other times, we do feel our strength. It's called our adult Ego Condition. Often this is when we are in a certain role or situation, where we feel and get space to be powerful and ourselves. We then have overview, can think clearly, and respect ourselves and others.
Older ego status
Sometimes we repeat patterns of parents
A third possibility is that we are in the Old Ego State. In this you can just subconsciously repeat patterns that important adults in your youth lived before. (And that they may also learn unconsciously.) This could be positive or negative. A lot of beliefs come from here. What's normal? What is allowed and what is not allowed? When you're in here, you often think in your form. (Examples are: You got to be on time. You got to respect each other. You got to work hard! Don't be a fool. You shouldn't bother them)
In life we can be invited by others to step into a certain Ego State. When someone screams very angry: What do YOU do!!!!!! (Negative Parent), then you can quickly feel shame, fear or anger (Child). And then react like that. I didn't do anything! Or "Sorry!" Or get angry: You don't understand! .
And so conflicts arise, for example.
And this also works with ourselves.
So we can be critical of ourselves, for example: Why are you so sensitive? And then feel shame.

This is the right thing to do... Both in ourselves and to others.
Both in ourselves and to others. Let's say that I'm from the Adults respond: ah, I understand I'm sensitive. That makes sense. How can I take care of myself? And then feel security, and space, and opt for more peace and less stress in my life.
Or to the other: I get that you're scared, and I notice that I'm scared when you're yelling like that. Can we talk from the quiet, or do you need a minute? (Or I need some time, but I'll get back to you later).
Of course, this is only a tiny tip of the veil, but I'd like to join you in thinking about your situations, your (inner) dialogues and increasing the peace and space for yourself in your life!
